5 Tips to Pirates!

This is very important for parents who intend to bring their whole family to see Pirates of the Carribean 3: At World's End...

  1. Do not drink too much water, and remember to remind everyone else (especially the kids) to pee before going into the cinema. The movie is almost 3 hours! And trust me, you don't want to miss a thing!

  2. Kids below five SHOULD NOT come along for this although it is a Walt Disney production. Kids above five should have their eyes covered from the first 10 minutes of the movie.

  3. Remember to watch the second part of the Pirates trilogy before going for the third. Or else, many things might not make sense to you :P

  4. Be extra careful when you drink throughout the movie. Otherwise, you may accidentally throw a mouthful of shower to the people sitting in front of you because of the many intermittent comedies and punch lines!

  5. Remember to stay back until after the first part of the credits! Otherwise, you will miss the extra 5 minutes of the movie :)

Enjoy yourself! It's really a great movie!

Liar Liar

Come bed time and Little Skywalker was looking for a book for bedtime reading. He found a piece of paper that was tore out from a really old kindergarten book.

J: Oh…. Who spoilt the book?
L: Err… 不是我! 是 Lum Jun 弟弟!
J: Lum Jun 弟弟还没出来, 怎样弄坏?
L: Err… 是 Tiffany 弄坏的!
J: Tiffany 在 Penang far far away 怎样弄坏?
L: Err... 是爸爸弄坏的! 他拿那个 Mr. Cane hor 这样 beat 那个 book lor.. then spoilt liao lor! (Imitating his father's beating style)
J: 是么? 不是 Wei Wei 弄坏的? Sure?
L: Sure!! 不是我! 是爸爸弄坏的! 要 beat 他..哈哈哈哈!

And then, J went for her bath, it was my turn to "interrogate" him...

E: You tear out the book ah?
L: No! Mummy tear one!
E: Really ah? I ask her later ah?
L: Err... It's monster tear one! The monster lor...
E: Oh... LOL!

I guess the little guy will be lying his way through life huh?!

p/s: It's the long anticipated Pirates' Day for us tonight!

Tummy

Like most expecting mummies, J's tummy is getting bigger and bigger by the day. Compared to her first pregnancy, her tummy grew at a faster pace this time. It's probably because her tummy was stretched before when Little Skywalker was in it. I heard it's a common phenomenon among mothers.

Greenapple asked me a few weeks ago on why I did not write much about J's pregnancy and the baby's movement. Well, I guess that's because it's difficult for me to write about something like that since I am not the one pregnant. Furthermore, J would not allow me to take photos or video of her tummy (like what the western people do). Greenapple was interested to know about whether we could really see the baby kicking from the surface of J's tummy. I believed my reply to her was "Yeah! If you watched alien movies, it's kinda like that, only it's real!".

Then, a couple of nights ago, J was eating slices of apples from a plate. Since she was heavily pregnant, she was too tired to get up to the table. As she looks at her bloated tummy, she got an idea. She used her tummy as a small table (the type where they used it for breakfast-in-bed) for her plate. After a while, you could actually see her "table" tilting in all directions as a result from the baby's movement. It was quite a sight really!

We can tell that our little baby boy will be another active monkey like his brother!

Multiple Birthdays

We went to a mega birthday party with the most number of birthday boys and girls last weekend. Since we have no idea what to bring as presents, I've decided to get the kids some chocolates and candies in order to help them get rid of their current set of teeth quickly... LOL!

The crowd was really big and happening! We were greeted to many door gifts from the hostesses. I thought we were supposed to bring gifts instead? Anyway, Little Skywalker was very happy to receive all kinds of presents even thought it was not his birthday anyway...

The very first thing Little Skywalker did was to climb on the King's chair and be pushed around.

Then, the clown came! (He looks like the McDonald guy, but in a Burger King!)

The clown organized some games for the kids! (But Little Skywalker was too young to participate)

And also some games for the adults accompany their kids!

Little Skywalker was happy playing with some balloons instead...

The cakes were gorgeous!

Some other candid shots (courtesy of Shannon)...

We had a great time at the party! A big thank you to Annie Q and LaundryAmah for inviting us!

p/s: You can read more about the birthday bash here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here and here...

Night Shift

Due to Little Skywalker's night-owl problem, J and I are stuck with panda-eyes-syndrome. It's not that we did not try to discipline his afternoon nap habit. It's just that it is out of our control because we are both working. My parents seems to have a tough time getting him to sleep, in fact, no one can get him to sleep unless he is wore out from his activities. He will only sleep on his own timing.

To accommodate his odd sleeping hours, J and I came up with a rotating shift to take care of him during the weekdays. Due to J's pregnancy, I figure she needs enough rest throughout the night. Hence, she will take the evening shift and I will take the night shift.

Once we arrive at home, I would normally doze off at the couch with the television on. J would feed Little Skywalker his dinner etc. Come sleeping time, J would bath and go to bed early while I would "deal" with the night-crawler. I would help him brush his teeth, bath him, change him and prepare him for bed. Normally, he would take more than an hour to go to sleep while I will prevent him from "kacau-ing" his mother by all means.

If he is way past my limit of tolerance, I will start "pushing" him to sleep. Normal tactics employed will be not responding to his endless questions and actions. Telling him that "monsters" will be out to catch kids that are not sleeping is another trick. Then it would lead to me raising my voice. The last resort will be me leaving my hand print on his butt. He would then cry a bit and then slowly doze off. Although I am filled with guilt after having to smack him, but that seems to be the only way that works :(

Please tell me this is just a phase...

p/s: For those who will be attending the party, see you there!

Sleep Gun Needed!

I still remember reading something about a cool gadget called "Sleep Gun" from Doraemon comics when I was a kid (still am now). The said "gun" can be used to harvest your sleepiness to keep you awake as well as make you sleep instantly with a "shot".

Such a gadget would really come in handy at night where Little Skywalker refused to sleep due to his late afternoon nap. He will wakes up from his nap around 5-6pm and continue until way past midnight before he drops again. He got most of his spankings from my "five finger mountain" for constantly disrupting J and I from getting enough rest. Last night, he stayed up until 1.30am before he finally nodded off. Such a behavior is driving me sleepless, not to mention the frustration that comes with it!

Can someone please, invest the above mentioned "Sleep Gun" already??

Car Wash Helper

In order to fill his weekend activities, I decided to let Little Skywalker help out in washing the car. Truth being told, he was quite dedicated for the first fifteen minutes or so, before he strayed off doing other things like watering the plants, sweeping the floors etc.

Due to the scorching weather, I did not forget to hose the little fella until he's all wet before he goes for his bath!

Multi-purpose Chair

We finally got ourselves a great deal on two bean bags (two for RM199)! One of it was sent to my parents' house since we have no use for two. Can you imagine that the bags and the beans came seperately? J and I had to fill the bags ourselves, and loosing some along the way.

Naturally, Little Skywalker would practically do everything on his new "chair"...

And I really mean everything!

On a side note... Happy Wedding Anniversary dear!

Big Felicity Thank You

We save some stuff in our mailbox (which was not bills) yesterday! From the look of the stamps, we knew the letter was meant for Little Skywalker instead of his parents...

We could clearly tell the sender by a small sticker at one corner of the envelope...

There was another Tiffany blue envelope inside...

I heard about Greenapple talking about sending out thank you cards. However, we never expected more souveniors from their wedding almost a month later! There were a CD with a slideshow of their wedding photos, a few wallet size photos, refrigerator magnets as well as a beautifully designed thank you card...

So, what are you waiting for? Book her as your children's wedding planner now!!

I Big Boy 'ledi!

Little Skywalker had been asking us not to wrap him up in his Mamy Poko at night since some time ago. However, having not enough sleep every night (slept around 12am and woke up at 5.30am) and with J’s pregnancy, none of us got the energy to wake up in the middle of the night to remind him of peeing. Furthermore it would be a real nightmare if he refuse to continue sleeping after that.

Last night, after cleaning and changing him into his pajamas, Little Skywalker told J this:

L: Mummy, 不要包包 pampers liao!
J: Faster 包 pampers bu ran mosquito bite you.
L: 不用了, 我 big boy 了! *in a frustrate tone*
J: Err... 没有 pampers at night 会 wake up go "shi shi" toilet 吗?
L: 会的!! *in a confident tone*
J: Sure ah?
L: Sure!!
J: Last one lah, tonight 包 last one, tomorrow 才不要包 ok?
L: 不要!! No more pampers for me!!
J: Hmm... Ok lah... Mummy put potty in the room ah, at night 你 wake up "shi shi" in the potty, ok?
L: Ok!!

@3am…

J: (Felt someone climbing over her normally it would be me) Yes, Wei Wei? 做么你在这边的?
L: (Twisting and turning) 要 "shi shi" 了!
J: (Quickly shot up and brought him to the potty) Okok... good boy wor… 要 "shi shi" 会 wake up 的 hor!
L: (Peed in the potty with J’s help) Very dark…
J: (Wondered how he’ll find the potty in the dark) Dark nevermind, good boy wake up "shi shi" in the potty hor...

J lead him back to his bed and he willingly lied down back in his sports car bed and continued to sleep without any fuss.

That concludes his first night...

Double Weekends

It felt like having a double weekends (separated by one working day)! I wish this type of holidays arrangement will come up more often. Unfortunately, it would mean that all the vacation spots will be charging everyone at peak rate, not to mention the big crowd!

It is times like this that J and I would prefer to take a break from the rest of the world and stay home. My brother and sister were back for the long break. We got a chance to see little Tiffany again. It's been too long since we last saw her. She has grown so much! She has yet to master the skill of turning-over. My brother said it was due to the sheer weight of her huge thighs! LOL!

On Tuesday, we brought Little Skywalker to the cinema again! This time we went for the opening of Spiderman 3 at the newly opened TGV Jusco, Metro Prima! No more tolls just to go for a big screen at Mutiara Damansara! However, we were disappointed that we could not get the "Spiderman Combo" package as storekeeper told us they have not started selling it yet! We were surprised as they have already put up posters and stuff (even the price). Poor marketing...

How did you spent your double weekends?
